Doc's Rentals Frequently Asked Questions

	What are your rental requirements? I have a motorcycle permit, can I rent a motorcycle from Doc’s? Are reservations required? Can I request a specific model? Do you offer half-day rentals? Is the LDW (Loss Damage Waiver) insurance? What if I decline the LDW? Will my current motorcycle insurance cover the rental? How does the security deposit work? Is my credit card charged for the security deposit? What if my credit card limit won’t authorize for the deposit?



	What are your rental requirements? Minimum 21 years of age, valid motorcycle endorsement (no permits), heavyweight motorcycle experience and proof of full coverage insurance if the LDW (loss damage waiver) is waived.



	I have a motorcycle permit, can I rent a motorcycle from Doc’s? No, a valid motorcycle endorsement (license) is required to rent.



	Are reservations required? No, you can rent a Harley-Davidson from Doc’s on any given day based on availability without notice. However, despite a large selection, weekends and holidays generally book out in advance. We encourage customers to call ahead and reserve their rental with a prepaid reservation two weeks in advance, especially for rentals lasting 3 or more days.



	Can I request a specific model? Yes, we will make every effort to accommodate specific requests. However, due to maintenance and warranty service schedules and extended customer rentals, we may have to substitute for a similar model without a prepaid rental.



	Do you offer half-day rentals? Yes, but only Monday-Thursday. With a 4 hour minimum, rentals are available for $20 per hour plus optional LDW and insurance.



	Is the LDW (Loss Damage Waiver) insurance? No, it is a $25/day optional waiver that limits the renter’s liability for the theft or damage of the motorcycle to a $2,000 deductible.



	What if I decline the LDW? By waiving the LDW the renter will be liable for any and all costs for motorcycle damage or theft replacement. You will be asked to provide proof of full coverage insurance including agents name and phone number when the rental is picked up.



	Will my current motorcycle insurance cover the rental? Many insurance companies do not insure rental motorcycles for theft or damage. We suggest you call your agent and ask what they will cover if anything.



	How does the security deposit work? When the rental is picked up a $2,000 credit card authorization is required for a security deposit ($3,000 if the LDW is waived). Upon return of the rental motorcycle the security deposit is released.



	Is my credit card charged for the security deposit? No, we simply get an authorization only for the amount of the security deposit.



	What if my credit card limit won’t authorize for the deposit? More than one credit card can be used in combination with cash or cashiers check to reach the security deposit amount. Upon return and clearance for condition, authorization on credit cards is released and cash is refunded. Sorry, personal checks ARE NOT ACCEPTED for security deposit.
