While we enjoyed a brief light rain in the middle of the day, that didn't bother folks checking out Pik'n Lik'n under Doc's tent or the people grabbing a free bite to eat at Doc's first pig roast. Adult beverages were provided by Kirkwood's own Alandale Brewery.
Comic book legend and writer of the original Ghost Rider, Gary Friedrich, was on hand to take pictures with the character and sign autographs.
Despite having all of the activities our Fall Open House was for a great cause, the James S. McDonnell USO which provides travel support and comfort for our troops going abroad and returning home. Together we raised over $1,700 through soda and food donations combined with Doc's insane bike bash.

When Gateway International Raceway wanted to honor the 90 fallen soldiers from Missouri and Illinois in the Spring of 2005, they called Doc's with a unique idea.
After hearing Gateway's idea to represent the 90 fallen soldiers with 90 motorcycles, each carrying an American Flag, Doc's called Kirkwood H.O.G. to find volunteers to get it done.
Each of the riders carried a small American flag around the track for one lap before the Craftsman Truck race to be held that evening. With a quiet moment for tribute, family members and friends of the soldiers had a moment to receive honor for their loved ones contributions in defense of our freedoms.
This was a very moving display of honor and Doc's would like the thank our H.O.G. chapter for their efforts in making this a fantastic tribute!
